* I already belong to a consortium, why should I join Cruise Network Plus?
No single consortium can be everything to everyone. One big advantage of Cruise Network Plus, especially for small agencies and home-based agents, is that there are no levels to reach to qualify for higher commissions. We have National Account pricing with most of the cruise lines, and this pricing is available to all of our members, regardless of sales volume.

* If I join Cruise Network Plus, will I have to drop other association or consortium memberships?
It is completely up to you. We do not require it.

* Is Cruise Network Plus a consortium or a host agency?
It is actually both, and as such allows us to customize our program to best suit the needs of each member. Depending upon your situation and requirements, we can serve in the role of either Host Agency or Consortium, and it does not have to be the same for all vendors -- you get to choose which vendors you want to book which way. This flexibility enables each member to gain the greatest possible benefit. (Click here for a detailed explanation of the difference between Host Agency and Consortium and how Cruise Network Plus can best serve you).

*  When is commission paid?
In the case of cash or check sales, members deduct their commission from the final payment. Credit card commissions are paid to members once we receive them from the vendor.

* If I book through your program, will my agency lose its identity?
Yes and No. You will not lose your identity with your clients, as you will continue to be their sole contact. Cruise Network Plus will never deal directly with your clients, except possible in the case of an emergency.
From the viewpoint of the vendors, you will be considered part of Cruise Network Plus. Although we do provide them with a breakdown of each member agency's sales, each vendor treats it differently. When you identify yourself as Cruise Network Plus to a vendor, they see our collective volume, which gives you much more clout than you would have as an individual entity. You get the benefit of our high volume with that vendor. If you have a substantially high sales volume with a particular vendor, however, we can link you to Cruise Network Plus and then have your bookings and your identity known to that vendor. The bottom line is that, unless you are selling an exceptional amount with any one vendor, your identity is generally not an issue.
Because every agent's situation is different, we have made our program flexible. We offer a variety of options for setting up your account with us and each vendor. Just give us a call at 1-800-478-7811, and we will work with you to customize our program to suit your needs.

* Will my clients remain my clients?
Yes. Your clients are always your clients. Cruise Network Plus will not have direct contact with your clients and will not solicit your clients.

* Will my local vendor representatives help me with booking matters? If not, who will help me?
Your local vendor representative should be your first contact, but if you find that they are not helpful or cannot answer your question(s), simply contact Cruise Network Plus, and we will put you in touch with our national account representative for that particular vendor.

* I see on your Commissions & Booking Guide that some vendors only pay 10% commission. Why should I book these vendors via Cruise Network Plus when I can get the same commission on my own?
By pooling our sales with vendors that are paying only 10% now, it will help us to achieve higher commission levels for future bookings, which benefits all of our members. If our members opt to book these vendors outside of Cruise Network Plus, then we will never achieve higher commission levels for those vendors. Something else to keep in mind is that often when the target volume is reached, the vendor will make the commission increase retroactive to the first booking. If you booked outside of Cruise Network Plus, you would not benefit in such an instance.

* Can I be set up to book online with vendors?
Yes.

* Can documents be sent directly from vendors to me/my agency?
Normally no, but under some emergency circumstances, we may make special arrangements regarding the shipment of documents. Such an arrangment would have to be agreed to by both Cruise Network Plus management and the member.

* Do I have to belong to CLIA?
No. You can gain most CLIA benefits by joining Cruise Network Plus.

* Will I have the opportunity to participate in FAM trips?
Yes.

* Does Cruise Network Plus offer Errors and Ommission (E & O) insurance?
No.

* What rights/obligations would I have as a Cruise Network Plus member?
Please feel free to review our Membership Affiliation Agreement.

* Sounds like a great program -- how do I join?
It's simple! Just complete and submit our Online Membership Application Form, and we will contact you to finalize the details.
